Faith in the Lord
Let all men have faith unto the Lord,
unto the Holy Messiah and the Holy Spirit of God.
For the seedling of faith,
in the heart of a man,
is the birth of the Kingdom within.
As it is written,
such faith is the substance of our hope,
the evidence of things not seen.
For it is by faith that men first grew beyond the corporeal
to become more than a beast of the field,
seeing darkly through the dimness of the flesh
to first fathom the eternity of the Spirit.
It is by faith that men first trusted the Word of God,
inclining their heart toward His better way,
clinging weakly to the hope of redemption,
looking always to a world not seen.
By faith did men know the Messiah
since before the time of His holy birth,
coming to trust in His salvic Word of grace
in the day of his manifestation.
By faith did they reject the security of the old ways
for the persecution of the new,
choosing to shed their worldly lives and bodies,
bursting in an instant from flesh to Spirit,
from the realm of the fallen
to the place of the risen
to the courtyard of the Eternal.
