Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani

Yea Lord Christ,
How hath He forsaken thee
who first forsook thy sovereignty
for the condemnation of sins not yours.

Praise Lord Christ
For you forsook divinity
to change the moral symmetry
for the giving of salvation not ours.

Gasping upon the bloody cross
in the agonies of tortured and dying flesh
did the torments meant for others task your senses?

For the briefest moment of time
whilst in the greatest of tortures
as my sin infected your Holy Spirit
when my corruption fouled your divine nature
did it truly appear that your were forevermore
abandoned by your Holy Father?

Did my sin momentarily cast you down to my level,
to the disgrace of willful abandonment from God?

Breathe Lord Christ
the breath of God to set us free
to lift us past mortality
that we may see eternity.
