Exercising Grace
Each day doth the devil glare back at me,
seething from the reflection of my soul,
stalking me in silent menace
as the evil shadow of my darkest self.
He which becomes me
whence I forsake righteous judgment,
he which leadeth me
to condemn my brother by appearance,
to debase my sister with lust,
to assault my salvation with sin.
Each day doth my brethren forgive me,
bounteous in the blessings of the Messiah,
teaching me the ways of grace
whilst the evil shadow of my darkest self
melts beneath cleansing light of the Rising Son
He who hath saved all,
who hath suffered to become flesh from Spirit,
who hath led us beside the still waters of redemption,
whereat we may exercise the grace of the Messiah
in the dealings with our brethren
and dwell always in the Ways of the Lord.
Matthew 26:41
Psalm 23
